Safta Jaffery, has over 30 years of experience in the top flight of the worldwide music community. Having first worked in the A&R departments for ‘Dick James Music’, ‘MAM Records’, ‘Decca Records’ and ‘Magnet Records’ before setting up the producer management company SJP. Safta is presently MD/owner of Taste Music Ltd and a board member of AIM in the UK.

He Founded SJP in1985, a highly regarded Producer management company that has, over the years, represented some of the most renowned record producers in the world – including, John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead), Ron Saint Germain (311. Creed, Bad Brains), Laurie Latham (Stereophonics, Rik Wright), John Cornfield (Razorlight, Supergrass), Michael Brauer (Coldplay, KT Tunstall), Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones, INXS), David M. Allen (The Cure, Charlatons) amongst others. Over 150 assorted Silver, Gold and Platinum BPI Certified awards have been acheived by client producers represented by SJP – a number that continues to grow all the time.

In 1996, Safta co-founded ‘Taste Media Limited’ a record company and remained the Managing Director until it’s sale to Warner Music in 2005. During this period, Safta secured numerous territorial worldwide license record deals with various independent and major labels with a portfolio of artists including: Muse, Vega 4, One Minute Silence, Shed Seven and Serafin. Worldwide sales of over 5 million were achieved across 6 album releases with 3 x Platinum Awards, 1 x IFPI Award and 15 Gold Award sales discs. Other honors received included; Brit Awards, Q Awards, NME Awards, Kerrang Awards, Music Week Awards and MTV Awards. The ‘Taste Media Limited’ brand was retained, after the sale to Warner Music, and the company is planning to re-launch under it’s new business model of Artist discovery, development and management in 2008.
